The Hive Lighting C-Series is designed for regular software improvements, feature additions, and bug fixes. Please follow the below instructions to install the newest firmware on your fixture.
Download proper Mac or Windows Desktop App for your operating system.
Download the correct .hex firmware file for your model C-Series light
Open the Hive Lighting application and connect your light to your computer with a mini USB cable
Power on the light with the supplied power supply (Unit can be left in DMX or Local mode)
On Windows click connect. If the device is on and hooked up correctly the application should display "Device Connected"
On Mac select the device by clicking the dropdown menu to select the USB com port it is connected to. A Hive devices will be labeled as "usb.modemXXXX" (XXXX may be a series of 3 to 4 different numbers. There may be other devices on this list depending on what is connected to your USB ports or Bluetooth)
Select the firmware file from the destination it was saved to. CAUTION: please ensure you are loading the correct firmware file for your model C-Series lighting fixture
Click upload firmware. After 10+ seconds the firmware upgrade process will be complete
Detach USB cable and power cycle unit after upgrading
If you receive an error message retry the process and make sure ever is properly connected
If an error message persists then contact Hive Lighting at tech@hivelighting.com for further assistance
Download the Mac Installation .zip package from the Hive website.
Double click to open the .zip package
Copy the Hivelighting.app application to your applications folder
Double click the app to open.
You may receive a security notice from the system that the application is from an unauthorized developer and could not be opened.
Go to the System Preferences windows on your Mac and click the Security & Privacy icon.
In the general tab click to authorize the Hivelighting app and open. You may have to click the lock icon in the lower left corner to allow this change.
Download the Windows Installation .zip package from the Hive website.
Extract folder from .zip package to the desired location on your PC
